Things to look out for:
The very American tradition of an All-Star game has been a feature for every MLS season since the inception of the league. Though the nature of the teams has changed one thing has remained consistent: the quality of the shirts.
Recent MLS All-Star shirts have typically been better than most of the shirts from teams in the league, and in 2011 the All-Star shirt looked fantastic in one of the great adidas templates of the time. There’s something quite futuristic about this construction and colourway, with the red and silver accents giving off some light Captain America vibes.
Of course, no All-Star shirt would be complete without the name and number of a top player, and they don’t get any more top than Thierry Henry. Henry’s famous number 14 is on show here in the classic MLS typeface, and the Arsenal legend would play alongside the likes of David Beckham and Rafael Márquez in the All-Star team as they faced Beckham’s former side Manchester United.
