Things to look out for:
It was a bona fide “I was there” moment. David Beckham was leaving the Galacticos of Real Madrid to join LA Galaxy. With all due respect to any U.S. visitors, at the time it was like (in comic book terms) Superman arriving to earth and settling down to make his living amongst humans.
Ok, maybe that’s a stretch, but the transfer was undoubtedly one of the most significant of all time. Becks wasn’t just a strong addition to the Galaxy roster, he was the poster child for a league that wanted to shift the narrative surrounding it.
The 2007 Galaxy home shirt, Beckham’s first for the club, was a beautiful design that tied in to adidas’ shared design language across all their product range. Like the adidas footballs at the time, the flowing lines ebbed around the centre of the shirt, displaying a pleasing amount of motion.
Who made it: adidas
