Shirt Story: Football shirts progressed very quickly in the late 90s, as brands like adidas moved away from the pattern-led approach of the earlier part of the decade towards more functional, considered designs.
Although the Japan 1999 shirt might look unassuming at first glance, a number of quality details elevate this kit. A wonderful jock tag, part of a series from adidas at the time, is easily one of the best you’ll find across any shirt from any era. A small Japanese flag on the sleeve is easy to miss too.
Who made it: adidas
