Things to look out for:

Borussia Dortmund have an illustrious kit history. You all know what we’re talking about; the (often vibrant shades of) yellow bases on their shirts have produced masterpieces which stand out as some of the best designs of any given era. One motif which the team have only dabbled with is the traditional striped shirt, but when BVB did go down that direction we saw some fantastic looks.

The 2000 shirt falls into that category. Under the brand name goool.de, Dortmund produced their kits in house and experimented with a range of designs. The striped effort was one of their most memorable, remixing the famous yellow and black to great effect.

Rather amusingly, the shirt was retained the following season as an away shirt, despite being the same colours as the home shirt. Bizarre kit designations aside, the team stormed to the Bundesliga title under the guidance of recently retired player Matthis Sammer, and leading the charge on the pitch was Márcio Amoroso. The Brazilian would enjoy a prolific spell in Germany with 28 goals in 59 games, and BVB would need every single goal in the 2001 league campaign as they went on to win the title by one solitary point.
